NEC Statement on Local Commissioning

The SEA NEC agreed the following statement at its January 2012 meeting.

‘An important debate has been initiated about local commissioning of education.

SEA believes that with increased fragmentation, privatisation and marketisation of education and the weakening of Local Authorities’ planning role, there is a growing democratic deficit in the education system. Local people will have less and less say in the shape of the local system.
